Why A Christmas Blog?

Although Summer is my favourite of the 4 seasons, Christmas is my favourite holiday and my favourite time of year to craft for. I have been crocheting since I was 11 years old and I have loved Christmas all my life.
I've spent many Christmases in various places. I've been home with my family, volunteering at a mission, on my own, in hospitals and so on. I have found each experience to be eye opening and helpful in expanding my outlook on not only my life, but that of the lives of others.
When I came across some Yahoo Groups that celebrate and plan Christmas all year long, every day of the year, I fell in love. I love to talk about Christmas.
For me, Jesus is the only reason for the season. He was the Gift from Heaven that came to save us from our sins. Gift giving has become more commercial and the real meaning of Christmas has gotten lost. In the Yahoo group I am part of, that is not lost.
The main group I am part of is called Christmas To The Max and it has been the most wonderful group. I have made many friends, found countless patterns and come up with many new traditions and ideas to celebrate this wonderful time of year.
In this blog I hope to share my thoughts on Christmas and also share some patterns that I have come up with whether they are crochet or otherwise. I can't promise to be here everyday, but I promise to keep as up to date as possible.
I hope you will join me along my journey of celebrating Christmas, not just once a year, but everyday in our hearts.
If we prepare a little bit each day for Christmas, then the rush in December won't seem so overwhelming and we won't e nearly as aggrevated as many people often are.
Remember that it is the season of Love and Giving. Perhaps not of giving gifts, but of ourselves. Start a new tradition this Christmas with you or your family. Help out a mission or a children's ward. Visit shut-ins or make some small craft for people who may not have family to be with. Whatever you do, do it in the Spirit of Christmas - Love!
